Rochester Wildlife Removal Tip of the Month: How to get Pigeons Out of Your Attic

You have a beautiful home that is the dream of your life. You have always wanted to own your own home and now you have it, but before you get too excited you realize that your dream home has just become a nightmare. You find that a huge group of Rochester pigeons are living in the attic of your home. Now what do you do?

This is truly a nightmare. Not only Rochester pigeons incredibly loud, but they are also quite messy and they carry disease. You can count on the fact that there is a large group of pigeons if there is one there because they love to live in community. You can also count on them popping and leaving waste every place they can. They are absolutely disgusting birds that leave a shambles of any place they go. Now I bet you are really worried, and that is understandable. No one likes their home to be ruined by some New York rat like bird. People want to keep their home as their castle and these vermin will destroy your dream. Fret not. Your problem is easier to solve than you may think.

Believe it or not, New York birds in your attic are not as hard to get rid of as you may think. It is understandable you want to get rid of them, and with a little work, and a good plan you will be able to do so. The first place to begin is by checking to find the entrance point or points where the pigeons are getting in. If there is more than one then you want to close off the others so there is just one way in and one way out. You can't seal them all off yet, otherwise you will enclose the Rochester pigeons inside your attic and they will have no way to get out. You will close the other entry point later.

Over the additional entrances you want to place some wire mesh over the hole and staple it tightly against the building. If possible, you want to also board it up and/or caulk the holes closed. You want to make sure that there will not be an opening at any point, and the more measures you take to keep that sealed the better off you will be. When you have closed all the holes but the one, make another inspection to make sure that you didn't miss anything. This is very important, because if you leave them an opening they will be back. You must be thorough.
